Another interview, for those who like conversations with smart women.
Alice Munro, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature (and one of my favourite authors for a while beforehand – don’t hang onto possessions as I move so often and try to be minimalist, but her collection of short stories I’ve kept!).
“The complexity of things – the things within things – just seems to be endless. I mean nothing is easy, nothing is simple.”
One thing I picked up on is how the interviewer is asking somewhat leading questions, as if to “prove” and “make some point” about Alice Munro’s personal life, and about women. He tries to reduce things to a fairly simple narrative.
Can you spot this? 🙂
